Buttermilk
1 cup can be substituted with:
- 1 cup yogurt OR
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice or vinegar plus enough milk to make 1 cup – let stand 10mins OR
- 1 cup whole milk, 1 3/4 tsp cream of tartar OR
- 1 cup water, 1/4 cup buttermilk powder OR
- 3/4 cup of plain yogurt and 1/4 cup of milk OR
- 1 cup plain yogurt (for baking)
